Delete your Afloat account and data

You can request deletion of your Afloat account and all the data associated with it. This page explains what gets deleted, what we may retain, and how to make the request.

What gets deleted

When you request deletion, we permanently remove:

  • Your account profile (name, email, account identifiers)
  • All vessels you have registered, including their photos and documents
  • Maintenance logs, inventory records, and consumable tracking
  • Trip logs and travel history, including location data captured during trips
  • Float plans, including the shore-contact details you provided
  • Emergency contact entries you added

What we may retain

We may keep limited records where required by law (for example, tax records or fraud-prevention records) for the minimum period the law requires. If we retain anything, it is held under access controls and is not used to provide service.

If you ask, we can retain anonymized trip or maintenance summaries that are not linked to your identity. By default, we do not.

Timeline

We complete deletion within 45 days of receiving and verifying your request. We may take longer only where required by law or to complete a legitimate fraud-prevention investigation. We will tell you if that happens.

From inside the app

Once the in-app deletion option is available, you will also be able to request deletion directly from the Afloat app's Settings screen. The result is the same: a request to our Privacy team that is processed within 45 days.
